Backyard picnic to raise funds for HIV patients

Donna Sweet, an HIV/AIDS expert and physician with the KU School of Medicine-Wichita, will host the 20th annual Sweet A’fair Backyard Picnic from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 18, according to a news release.

The event will be held at Sweet’s home, #6 Crestview Lakes. Parking will be available at 21st and Oliver where attendees can take a free trolley to the picnic.

Proceeds from the fundraiser, which has a suggested donation of $25, will go toward the Sweet Emergency Fund to help pay for care for those living with HIV, according to the release.

The picnic will have food from Popeye’s Chicken, activities for children, a live and silent auction, music, photo booth. Attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite super hero.
