If you’re planning to head east on Kellogg over the weekend, you might have to find a different route.
Crews will shut down a section of the highway between Rock and Webb roads from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday to accommodate road construction, Wichita police Officer Charley Davidson said.
Both westbound and eastbound lanes will be affected.
Eastbound traffic will be diverted south onto Rock Road to Harry then routed back onto Kellogg at Webb.
Westbound drivers will detour north onto Webb Road to Central before being routed back onto Kellogg at Woodlawn.
Crews will start cutting down traffic flow through the area starting at 7 p.m. Friday by reducing traffic to one lane.
“It will be a very congested area with all this,” Davidson said. “… I would suggest possibly avoiding the area.”
