This year marks Rotary Club of Wichita’s 100th year of service. To celebrate, the organization is sponsoring and helping build Wichita Habitat for Humanity’s 150th house.
The first wall was raised Tuesday on the house, on South Victoria in Stewart Village, near 44th South and Hydraulic
“This is the fourth time Wichita Habitat for Humanity has had the pleasure of partnering with the Rotary Club of Wichita to build a home for a deserving Wichita family” said Laurie Walker, Habitat operations officer and acting executive officer, in a news release. “By choosing to provide financial support and volunteers for this build, Rotary Club of Wichita is making a powerful statement about the role they want to have in improving the lives of people in our community. We are incredibly thankful for their continued support as we strive to end poverty housing in Sedgwick County.”
