Wichita police were called to La Quinta Inn & Suites on East Kellogg shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday after an employee reported a disturbance at a party.
The 24-year-old male employee told police that two women — a 17- and a 19-year-old — were hosting a party when another woman received word her 12-year-old niece had been jumped at the party by other women, according to Sgt. Steve Yarberry, spokesman with the Wichita Police Department.
"She showed up on the scene armed with a 12-inch knife, attempted to push her way into the victim's room, while waving the knife around," Yarberry said. "The suspect was adamant on finding the females who jumped her niece."
The 33-year-old aunt was arrested by police and booked on a charge of aggravated assault and several warrants.

Someone broke a window and entered Will's Power Wash, a home-based business at 19367 W. McCormick. Taken was a red 2005 GMC one-ton dual-wheel pickup with a custom red-and-silver box on the rear end that was filled with power wash equipment, said Sgt. The burglars also took some power tools, a flat-screen TV and a computer from the business.
