Four teams — Wichita HomeSchool, Ambassadors for Christ Academy of Bentonville, Ark., Circle High School and Kansas City Christian — qualified for the regional competition in Saturday's 12th annual Kansas Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology meet at Wichita State University.
Wichita HomeSchool won the BEST Award based on a project notebook, oral presentation, table display, interviews, and overall spirit and sportsmanship. Circle's team finished second.
Ambassadors for Christ Academy won the Game Award, based on the team's robot score in the game competition. Kansas City Christian finished second.
Ambassadors for Christ Academy also won the Boeing Creativity Award and Spirit Aerosystems Most Robust Design Award.
Wichita HomeSchool also won the Bombardier Learjet Craftsmanship Award, Cessna Teamwork Award and the Sportsmanship Award.
BEST is designed to inspire students to pursue careers in engineering, science and technology.
