The 61-year-old father of two preteens has been unemployed for two years.
He was laid off, then later divorced.
"We aren't asking for any special needs or Christmas items," he said. "It's just the tires on my car are shot, and I need to keep the car running in order to go to interviews."
Never miss a local story.
He said he has sent out more than 1,000 resumes, but the job market is very competitive right now.
Help from Share the Season, he said, might provide some hope.
Their home is under foreclosure.
"My youngest son has been diagnosed as potentially autistic," he wrote on his application to Share the Season. "My oldest son feels the social pressure of poverty."
