WICHITA — U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts said today he is worried that under the Obama administration, Congress has lost the power of consent.
"The activities of this session of Congress have been like a fire hose. We don't have regular order," Roberts said in a speech to the Wichita Rotary Club at Botanica.
"All the regulatory license being taken by the various bureaucracies in Washington that affect the daily lives and pocket books, they're not getting approval from the Congress. It's been a very disturbing thing," he said.
"The actions of this Congress and of this administration and all of the of folks who write the regulations over the past 18 months have really represented an unprecedented power grab and intrusion into our daily lives."
