Results compare 2008 population estimates to statistics from 2007 and 2000. The Wichita metro area, for example, has seen a 1.4 percent growth in population since 2007 and a 5.7 percent increase since 2000.
Search by state alone or by individual areas. The U.S. Census Bureau generally defines a metropolitan area as one with a core urban area of 50,000 residents or more. It defines a micropolitan area generally as one with an urban core of 10,000 to 50,000 residents.
