Retail and aviation experts to speak at WSU economic conference

Jack Kleinhenz, chief economist for the National Retail Federation, will speak at Wichita State University’s annual economic outlook conference in October.

Kleinhenz is also principal of an investment advisory firm in Cleveland, Ohio, and president of the National Association for Business Economics, the largest international association of applied economists, strategists, academics and policymakers.

William Swelbar, executive vice president in charge of InterVISTAS and a consultant and speaker on air transportation issues, is the other featured speaker at the conference.

The event, which includes a forecast for job growth in the Wichita area for the coming year, is organized by WSU’s Center for Economic Development and Business Research. It will be held from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 9 at Century II.
