Harden Home Health and Harden Hospice Kansas are changing their names to Gentiva Home Health and Gentiva Hospice.

The changes are effective Thursday, according to a news release.

The change reflects the company becoming part of Atlanta-based Gentiva in October, which is when Gentiva acquired the Austin, Texas-based Harden Healthcare, according to Tamara Metz, executive director of Gentiva’s Wichita hospice.

Originally, the company was founded by Mark Rowe in 1999 under the name Hospice Care of Kansas. In 2004, Rowe sold it to Fort Worth, Texas-based Voyager HospiceCare, which Harden acquired in 2010.

Gentiva provides home health and hospice services to more than 350,000 people each year in more than 420 locations, according to its website.

The company has offices in Hutchinson, Lenexa, McPherson, Overland Park, Parsons, Shawnee, Topeka, Wichita and Winfield, according to its website.

The company does not expect any changes to its staff or services at this time, Metz said.
