Wichita cardiologist Greg Duick, one of the co-founders of Kansas Heart Hospital at 3601 N. Webb Road, is retiring from his medical practice and will take a bigger role at the hospital.
Duick said his last day at Cardiology Consultants of Kansas, a 10-person cardiology specialty group, will be Dec. 3.
He will retain his title as chairman at Kansas Heart Hospital and will take on more responsibilities as its president.
Duick said his new duties will include leading community relations efforts with hospitals, insurance companies, physicians and business organizations; being a liaison between the hospital and all levels of government; and leading rural community relations and outreach.
"That's a big part of being a specialty cardiovascular referral hospital," he said. Kansas Heart Hospital is "not just a local phenomenon."
Duick said giving up his private practice also will give him more time to spend with his wife and family.
