Just as an event venue, Venue 3130, opened at 3130 W. Central where the Loyal Order of the Moose 138 used to be, so too will another venue open where the lodge was before that at 10005 E. Kellogg behind Club Rodeo.
Derek and Laura Haas’ Amazing Banquets Wedding & Event Venue isn’t related to Venue 3130 but is taking advantage of the lodge’s smaller former east-side space.
Never miss a local story.
Derek Haas has been a disc jockey for 31 years.
“I started when I was 12 years old.”
Laura Haas has had Amazing Banquets for 15 years.
“We kind of basically incorporated the two businesses together,” Derek Haas says.
“The one thing that will set us apart from anybody else is we’re all inclusive,” he says.
The two have been promoting the business with the motto, “You say, ‘Yes,’ to the dress, and we do the rest.”
“It’s a one-stop shop,” Derek Haas says of the music, food, decorations, photography, limo service and anything else a bride or anyone else wants.
“The bride doesn’t have to look for anything, really,” he says. “Basically we’re trying to take the stress from them having to search all over the world.”
The venue will be available for any kind of parties or meetings.
The inside of the business will hold 200, but Haas says there will be a heated-and-cooled tent area that could hold up to 1,200 people as well.
There will be a grand opening of the business on March 5, which will serve as an introduction to the space. Haas says there will be a mock wedding reception to show what the venue can offer.
“It’s just for somebody to come see.”
