When Scott Shirkey moved his V-Twin Specialties out of Delano, he needed more room for the business, which services American motorcycles.
Now, he’s wanting to move again, but not because of space.
Shirkey says his 2,500 square feet at 5135 W. Central, which is just east of I-235, is plenty. He thinks Delano or downtown would be a better fit for the almost 7-year-old business, though.
“I want to be more centralized back downtown, where we were before,” Shirkey says. “We were just better off where we were, to be honest with you.”

His current 2,500 square feet is fine, Shirkey says, though he says he lacks storage.
“Really, what I need is more warehouse space and less shop space,” he says. “I have to roll out too many bikes every day to make it work.”
Shirkey says he also likes Delano and the redevelopment happening there.
“My ideal situation would be to buy something.”
He’d also like an upstairs loft to live in to “kind of dual purpose that space.”
“There’s a lot of that down there.”
Shirkey says his west-side space, which he owns and is now trying to sell, has great street presence.
“It’s a brand-new building with a lot of drive-by traffic,” he says. “It would be a great option for somebody with a small retail business.”
