Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate president and CEO Sherry Chris is going to be in Wichita for a day and a half for what she calls the “formal kick off” of Wichita’s Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Alliance.
That’s the new company that Realty World Alliance partners Greg Fox, Brady Barnard and Christopher Noffert formed last month.
“Wichita is a market that we do want to be in,” Chris says of her New Jersey-based company, which started six and a half years ago.
She says Fox and the city fit the company.
“He just seemed to fit perfectly into our culture,” Chris says.
A big part of the Better Homes philosophy is what Chris calls the lifestyle component of buying houses.
“We believe in the fact that people buy lifestyle in a community over a house itself,” she says.
That could be factors such as how far a drive to work is or how close parks are or even where a Starbucks is located.
Chris says that’s not how people used to buy houses two and three decades ago.
“When people were buying a house, it was the house itself they were interested in first and foremost.”
She says there wasn’t a lot of other information available at their fingertips as it is now.
“It was difficult for them to dream about what the next phase of their life might look like.”
Chris says Fox can help with that.
“He’s very forward thinking. He’s very technologically advanced. … When we connected, we realized we shared a lot.”
Chris is scheduled to arrive in Wichita, where she’s visited a few times, late Tuesday afternoon.
“The people were very nice and friendly, so I’ve had a pleasant experience,” she says of past visits.
“It’s a really nice place to live.”
