Intrust’s Schmitt to chair economic development steering council

Gary Schmitt, division director for Intrust Bank’s commercial real estate lending operations, will serve as 2014 chairman of the Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition Steering Council.
Lynn Nichols, chairman and CEO of Yingling Aviation, will serve as treasurer on the coalition’s Steering Council.
Tim Chase, president of the coalition, also is a steering council officer, according to a news release from the group.
The coalition is a private-public partnership whose mission is to grow the area’s economy by attracting and retaining companies and by helping to create new jobs.
Other steering council members for 2014 include: Don Sherman of Westar; John Bardo, president of Wichita State University; Tom Dondlinger of Dondlinger & Sons Construction; Scott Eilert of Cargill Meat Solutions; Sherry Hausmann of Via Christi Hospitals; Dave Murfin of Murfin Drilling Co.; Steve Sharp of Spirit AeroSystems; Jim Walters of Cessna Aircraft Co.; and Sheryl Wohlford of Automation-Plus Inc.
They also include: mayor Carl Brewer and Bob Layton of the city of Wichita; Tim Norton and Dave Unruh with the Sedgwick County commission; mayor Kristey Williams of the city of Augusta; Wayne Chambers of High Touch Technologies; and Gary Plummer, president and CEO of the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce.
