Wichita State University will host its 38th annual Kansas Economic Outlook Conference on Oct. 5.
The conference will take place at Intrust Bank Arena from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m., providing information about current local, state and national economic conditions.
Last year’s topics included the aerospace sector, oil and natural gas and farm updates. This year’s topics and speakers are yet to be announced.
“Each year, we change the types of speakers, and we try to bring in not only economists but business professionals who are relevant to the issues and topics that are important or will become important to either the Kansas economy or people within the south-central region,” said Jeremy Hill, director of the Center for Economic Development and Business Research at WSU.
In the past, the conference has taken place at Century II. This year’s shift to Intrust Bank Arena has been in the works for two years and is an attempt to create a new environment for attendees, Hill said.
Registration for the conference is now open at www.cedbr.org/events/state-outlook/kansas-economic-outlook-event.
