CrossFirst Bank said it has created a division that will focus on serving commercial clients in the oil and gas industry.

The Leawood-based bank said its energy banking group will be led by Chris Cardoni. Cardoni, managing partner and president of the energy division, has more than 16 years of experience in commercial lending, oil and gas lending and the futures markets. He most recently was senior vice president and manager of energy lending at F&M Bank and Trust Co. of Tulsa, which merged with Prosperity Bank.

Joining Cardoni will be Terry Blain and Wes Webb, both of whom were most recently with F&M Bank. Blain has more than 20 years of experience in oil and gas lending. Webb had an energy focus in positions at Bank of Oklahoma and at F&M Bank.

CrossFirst, which has $1 billion in assets, said in a news release that its energy division will focus on serving customers within its Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri markets as well as markets in 12 other states.

The bank operates an office in Wichita near 13th and Webb.
