Madrigal & Welch Insurance has promoted Jeff Engel to president.

In his new role, Engel’s primary focus will be continued growth of the commercial insurance business, according to a news release from the agency.

“Jeff’s background in leadership and industrial engineering helps him to immediately see the big picture needs of the client right when he walks in the door,” Tony Madrigal, company owner and CEO, said in a statement. “With my 45 years experience in the insurance industry and Jeff’s vast experience in the industries we represent, we are going to take this business to new heights.”

Before joining Madrigal & Welch in 2013, Engel spent 12 years working in continuous improvement, safety and management positions in the manufacturing and distribution industries. He holds a degree in industrial engineering from Kansas State University and earned an MBA from Newman University.

Madrigal & Welch Insurance, which has three area offices, was founded in 1978.
