The holding company of UMB Bank said Tuesday its second quarter 2014 earnings rose 16 percent from a year ago.
UMB Financial Corp. said its earnings for the three-month quarter ended June 30 were $34.7 million compared with $29.9 million in the second quarter of 2013.
The Kansas City, Mo.-based company said its assets under management increased during the period, as did its average net loans, which it said rose 12 percent between the second quarters of 2013 and 2014.
“Loan growth continues to be a driving force behind our success,” said UMB Financial CEO Mariner Kemper, in a news release.
UMB Financial said it was the company’s 17th consecutive quarter of loan growth.
UMB Bank operates two branches in Wichita, which also is the headquarters of its agribusiness division.
