Wesley Medical Center has transferred one of its three da Vinci surgical systems to Galichia Heart Hospital, according to a news release.
The cost to transfer and install the system was about $500,000.
The da Vinci surgical system provides robot-assisted technology and 3D imaging for physicians, according to the release. It will be used for procedures such as hysterectomies, hernia repair, gallbladder removal and colon resection.
Galichia Heart Hospital was acquired by Wesley Medical Center in early 2012. The hospital has 99 beds and is located at 2610 N. Woodlawn.
