Bugs and taxes are among the topics on the agenda for the summer meeting of the Kansas Christmas Tree Growers Association.
The meeting begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at the John C. Pair Research Center, 1901 E 95th Street South in Haysville.
At the meeting, an official from the state revenue department will address how counties and the state classify Christmas tree farms – agriculture or commercial – and there also will be discussion of capital gains taxes.
Dealing with insects and other pests and an update on pine wilt also are planned.
The cost is $25 per farm for association members and $45 for non-members. There’s an additional $8 cost per person for lunch.
Those interested in attending should contact Susan Grelinger at firstname.lastname@example.org. Or call her at 316-733-0918. The deadline for registering is June 1.
