The Kansas Credit Union Association said Thursday representatives from six Wichita credit unions will be picking up the lunch tabs for customers of two restaurants.
KCUA said in a news release that the representatives would be at Wasabi, 2404 N. Maize in northwest Wichita, and Tanya’s Soup Kitchen, 1725 E. Douglas, downtown today.
The representatives had $1,750 to use for customers’ purchases, starting at 11 this morning.
The participating credit unions are Cessna Employees Credit Union, Credit Union of America and EquiShare Credit Union, Central Star Credit Union, Mid American Credit Union and Meritrust Credit Union.
Sixteen credit unions in 11 Kansas communities are participating in the association’s “It’s on us” day, an event the association said is aimed at bringing awareness of the value credit unions provide to their communities.
Combined, the credit unions will spend $10,000 on customers for today’s event, the association said.
