Perfection Builders has received approval from the Kansas Real Estate Commission to form a new brokerage, Summit Properties.

Jim Wood, a veteran real estate professional in Kansas, will serve as broker for the new division.

“It gives us more control over our sales and marketing function,” said Perfection Builders co-owner Scott Lehner. “Our houses were in the past represented by contract agents. It just made more sense to bring it in-house.”

The company is building homes in The Oaks in Derby, Elk Creek in northeast Wichita and Watercress Village in northwest Wichita. It also has projects in Manhattan and Junction City.

Longer term, Summit Properties will serve other builders in the region, Lehner said.

During his career, Wood has managed more than 70 subdivisions and helped launch three residential resale and new-homes operations. He has been involved at nearly every level of leadership for the Wichita Area Builders Association and Wichita Area Association of Realtors.

Perfection Builders was started in 2004 by Lehner and Jason Ronk.
