Wichita is getting a chapter of the Active 20-30 Club, an organization for people younger than 40 who want to focus on fundraising for local children’s charities.
Active 20-30 has about 50 clubs throughout the U.S. and Canada. Each club is run by a volunteer board and members to focus on the needs of people in their local communities.
Tommy Ahlf, a commercial real estate manager for Intrust Bank and inaugural chairman and president of the new Wichita 20-30 Club, said he wanted to start a chapter after being a part of one in the Kansas City area.
“They raise hundreds of thousands of dollars each year, and it also gets the best and brightest young professionals together,” he said.
The club will likely start regular meetings next month. Ahlf said he’s looking for a group with about 80 members, who likely would meet downtown to encourage young professionals to join, Ahlf said.
