Graphic designer, Armstrong Chamberlin
Beyer said his job offers a good mix of the creative and practical.
“I always loved to doodle and draw, but I didn't want to be the typical starving artist,” he said. “I was happy to find a career that has an application for the arts.”
Beyer, 24, grew up in Wichita and earned a degree in graphic design with an emphasis on illustration from Wichita State University.
At the Armstrong Chamberlin marketing firm, most of his work involves designing presentations for print and the Internet, although he’s also edited video and created moving graphics.
“We’re seeing more jobs with that,” he said.
And he’s probably the best person in the office to send for a cup of coffee. During college, he worked for several years as a barista for Starbucks.
“I really enjoyed that craft,” he said.
