Extension center plans beef barbecue

The annual beef barbecue organized by the Sedgwick County Extension Center is set for 7 p.m. Monday, March 24.

The dinner, now in its 67th year, is open to the public at a cost of $10 per adult meal, or $7 for children between 5 and 12 years old.

The program will be given by Jaymelynn Farney, who earned a doctorate in ruminant nutrition and is now a livestock specialist on the KSU extension staff.

Tom Leffler, co-founder of Leffler Commodities and a commodities broker, will provide a market report.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at the center, 7001 W. 21st St. North, which is the corner of 21st and Ridge. Dinner is at 7 and the program begins at 7:30 p.m.
