Mariscalco leaving KU med school for job at Illinois

Michele Mariscalco, associate dean for research at the KU School of Medicine-Wichita, is leaving for a new position as regional dean of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Urbana, according to a news release.
Mariscalco has been associate dean since 2010. She will start her new position March 31.
While at KU, Mariscalco partnered with the KU Medical Center Research Institute, expanded pre-award grant activity, developed a “concierge service” for faculty researchers and established post-award services for faculty who need support, according to the release.
She also led research partnerships with KUMC, Wichita State University, Wesley Medical Center and Via Christi Health.
