Siemens Energy has landed an order for 79 2.3-megawatt turbines that will be installed at the 182-megawatt Panhandle 2 wind farm northeast of Amarillo, Texas, the company announced Wednesday.
The plant in Hutchinson will assemble the turbines, and the Siemens plant in Fort Madison, Iowa, will supply the 174-foot long blades.
Deliveries will start in March and commissioning of the turbines is scheduled for November.
