The Visioneering Health Alliance Leadership Initiative, a program of the Kansas Leadership Center, is seeking volunteers who want to help increase access to and consumption of healthy foods, according to a news release.
Those who participate in the project will be put into teams that will work in different subject areas, such as small businesses, early education, young professionals and senior citizens, according to the release.
The program is funded through a $1 million grant from the Kansas Leadership Center, and the aim is to train up to 400 Kansans over three years “to achieve measurable progress on community-identified health priorities in south central Kansas.”
There is no cost to participate. The program will be held March 7, March 24-27 and Sept. 17-19.
The deadline to apply is Jan. 31. For more information, got to www.kansasleadershipcenter.org/vha.
There will also be an informational meeting about the program at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 13 and at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 15 at the Kansas Leadership Center, 325 E. Douglas.
