Atlas MD, a Wichita-based concierge medical group, has launched a new Web-based app it hopes to market to physicians, according to a news release.

The program, called EMR, can help doctors operate an insurance-free clinic through a secure network, compiling patient records and billing and allowing physicians to write and track prescriptions, said Josh Umbehr, an Atlas MD physician-owner.

The medical group has been working on the application since April 2011 in conjunction with Wichita-based Entermotion, a Web design and development company.

Umbehr said his office was using eight or nine different platforms for scheduling, inventory and charting, so it decided to roll all of the features it needed into one.

“We were worried that inefficiency was going to affect the bottom line and success of the practice,” Umbehr said.

The app includes a free 30-day trial for physicians and then costs $300 per doctor per month. The cloud-based app runs on Apple and Android products.

Atlas MD was founded in September 2010.
