Commercial adviser, NAI Martens
A specialist in commercial properties, Nathan Farha might actually be underselling his latest achievement – earning the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation from the CCIM Institute.
“Basically you just have to show them you have the portfolio, the track record and the history that justifies that designation,” he said.
To earn the designation, Farha also had to complete more than 200 hours of study and pass a six-hour exam. He was Kansas’ only new CCIM designee and one of 221 nationwide this year.
Farha, 30, was born and raised in Wichita. He graduated from Wichita State University with a degree in finance with an emphasis on real estate. He joined Martens in 2005 and spent a year working on appraisals.
“That was a good way to learn how to value property,” he said.
Since then he’s worked as a broker, finding buyers for multi-family properties and other commercial opportunities.
“Sometimes it’s just an individual, or it could be group of of physicians, or it could be an institutional buyer from out of state,” he said. “There’s all different types of investments.”
And that’s what he likes about the business.
“I just like how it’s always different,” he said. “I need interaction with people. I enjoy being creative and figuring out how to make something work. That's what we do every day.”
