Manish Bajracharya

In-patient pediatrics critical care, Wesley Medical Center

Bajracharya fell in love with pediatrics while attending medical school in his native Nepal. He discovered a passion for treating those needing the most critical care while completing his training in this country.

“I work with sicker kids,” he said. “Those are the kids that come to the pediatrics ICU, anywhere from one month” of age and older.

“We take care of infections, or breathing issues, or if they have critical issues after surgery or have met with a bad accident.”

“It's just so satisfying to see sicker kids get better.”

Bajracharya, 34, graduated from medical school in Katmandu, then worked in surgery and emergency room care there for two years before moving to Albany, N.Y., where he did a residency in pediatrics. He then completed a program specializing in pediatric critical care at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

He started at Wesley July 1.

Bajracharya enjoys reading, music, hiking and photography. He and his wife, Jasmine, have a 5-year-old daughter, Kalsa. Jasmine is finishing dental school in Minneapolis, and the family plans to settle here when she's done.

“Both of us will be working here and serving the people,” he said. “It’s a great place to live, very family oriented.”
