An author who worked a job in every state to better understand the U.S. employment market will speak next month at Wichita State University.
Daniel Seddiqui, author of “50 Jobs in 50 States,” will speak at 6 p.m. Oct. 2 in Room 208 of Hubbard Hall at WSU. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Seddiqui is an economics graduate from the University of Southern California. He tried to work in jobs that typified each region, including working as a lobsterman in Maine and a logger in Oregon, and wrote about those experiences in his book.
The lecture is sponsored by WSU offices of Multicultural Affairs and Cooperative Education and Work-Based Learning. His presentation is paid for through a grant from the Bank of America Foundation.
