Meritrust Credit Union said Wednesday that it will donate $225,000 over three years to Wichita State University’s Center for Entrepreneurship.
“We want to align with the university in areas that reflect our core values and our business mission, which includes helping our business members succeed,” Meritrust president James Nastars said in a news release.
WSU officials said the money will be used to fund the entrepreneurship center’s weekly workshop series, its speaker series and other outreach efforts.
“This wonderful gift increases the center’s ability to provide training and interaction with successful business people to the students, entrepreneurs and companies driving Kansas’ economic growth,” Lou Heldman, the center’s interim director, said in the release.
