Sunflower Bank said Wednesday it has named a former Bank of America executive as its Wichita market president.

The Salina-based bank said Mark Heiman assumes the post vacated by Jim Faith, who joined Emprise Bank in April as senior vice president and Wichita commercial manager.

Heiman has 30 years of experience in financial services in Wichita, 21 of them with Bank of America. He was most recently in Bank of America’s private banking division.

“Mark is an ideal addition to our Wichita team,” said Sandy Jacobs, Sunflower executive vice president, in a news release. “He brings a wealth of banking knowledge and experience and is focused on creating possibilities for success for Sunflower Bank customers.”

Sunflower said Heiman will primarily be responsible for overseeing the $1.7 billion bank’s growth strategy locally as well as developing and growing its commercial banking relationships.

The father of six children, Heiman holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Wichita State University.
