Keri Myers, Director of development, Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital

Myers went from volunteering for several nonprofits in El Dorado to raising money for them in a professional capacity.

“I find it very satisfying to link caring community members with worthy organizations,” she said.

Myers, 40, grew up in Waukesha, Wis. She earned undergraduate degrees in speech communications and history from Drake University in Des Moines and a master’s in communications studies from the University of Kansas. She worked for a small telecommunications company in Dallas, then returned to Kansas to raise a family, volunteering in her spare time.

Myers served as executive director of the United Way of El Dorado from 2002 to 2007, then worked for the Butler Community College Foundation until earlier this year. She started at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in June.

“I'm tasked with growing the endowment of the foundation and strengthening the relationship with donors to the hospital,” she said. “Philanthropy is a key part of hospital operations.”

Myers enjoys reading and exercising but say she spends most of her spare time with her four children – Grace, 13; Trey, 12; Guy, 9; and Alice, 6. She says they've joined her for lunch at her new job several times this summer.

“They've enjoyed the food at the hospital. I don't know if that's a sign of my cooking or what. The food is really good, actually.”
