Susan Mosier, director of Medicaid services at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, has been selected as one of seven Medicaid directors across the country to participate in the Medicaid Leadership Institute, according to a news release from KDHE.

The institute is funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and is directed by the Center for Health Care Strategies to “build the capacity of Medicaid directors to transform their programs into national models for accessible, cost-effective care,” according to the release.

There are about 370,000 Medicaid beneficiaries in Kansas.

This is the fifth group of Medicaid directors selected for the program since 2009.

Other Medicaid directors selected for 2014 were from Florida, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Vermont and Wisconsin.
