Sedgwick County’s average weekly wage rose to $915 in the fourth quarter of 2012, a 4.1 percent increase from a year earlier, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The country ranked 104th out of the 329 largest counties for wage growth.

The number of people working rose 1.4 percent from a year earlier, placing it 181st among the counties studied.

The agency determines the average wage by taking all wage income for the county and spreading it over all workers, so it doesn’t necessarily reflect any particular person’s wages.
