Horning to retire from Winfield’s Union State Bank

Mark Horning, Union State Bank’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, will retire at the end of the month.

Mark Horning, Union State Bank’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, will retire at the end of the month.

Horning, who has been with Union State in Winfield for 25 years, started his banking career at the Federal Reserve Bank in Oklahoma City in 1971. He worked in banks in Kremlin and Bartlesville, Okla., before going to work at The State Bank in Winfield in September 1988, according to a news release from Union State.

Following the bank’s merger with Union State Bank in 2006, Horning, who lives in Belle Blaine, became CFO for the bank holding company. He also has been serving on the Union State Bank board of directors.

The public is invited to a retirement reception for Horning from 2 to 4 p.m. June 21 at the bank, 823 Main in Winfield.
