A Credit Union of America executive will be the next president of Wichita Federal Credit Union.
Jane Hammil, CUA senior vice president and chief administrative officer, said Thursday she expects to begin her new job at Wichita Federal early next month.
“I’m very excited about this opportunity,” she said. “The credit union is in great financial shape and they’re ready for the next phase of growth.”
Hammil will replace Wayne Warfel, who is retiring as Wichita Federal president May 31 after 19 years in the post.
Warfel could not be reached for comment Thursday.
Hammil has been at CUA, Kansas’ second-largest state chartered credit union, for a little more than four years.
She joined CUA after relocating to Wichita from Oklahoma City. Hammil said she has worked in financial services for 27 years, including 21 years in credit unions.
Hammil will be formally introduced to Wichita Federal staff next week. Employees learned of her hiring earlier this week.
She said her last day at CUA is June 4.
Wichita Federal is a $78.6 million credit union with branches at 3730 W. 13th and inside city hall at 455 N. Main. It will open an east-side branch at 9835 E. 21st this summer.
It serves about 8,700 members.
