Four workshops focused on ranching are planned for next week across the state.

Organized by the Kansas Grazing Lands Coalition, the workshops will cover five areas in each session: working on the business, the three secrets for increasing profit, knowing what the numbers mean, wealthy on the balance sheet but broke at the bank, and working with nature.

Dave Pratt of Ranch Management Consultants will conduct the workshops, which are intended to help ranchers apply business and economic principles to owning and operating a ranch.

The workshops run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and will be held at the following sites:

• In Pratt on Wednesday, March 20, at the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism, 512 SE 25th Ave.
• In Hays on Thursday, March 21, at Whiskey Creek Wood Fire Grill, 3203 Vine St.
• In Salina on Friday, March 22, at Courtyard by Marriott, 3020 Riffel Drive.
• In Topeka on Saturday, March 23, at the Ramada Convention Center, 420 SE 6th St.

The cost is $50. To register contact Tim Christian at tdchristian@cox.net or go to www.kglc.org. Or call 620-241-3636.
