Hospital Corporation of America, the parent company that owns Wesley Medical Center, released its fourth quarter earnings Tuesday.
HCA, based in Nashville, Tenn., said revenues increased by 8.5 percent over last year to $8.434 billion. Net income totaled $314 million, according to the company’s earning statement.
Same-facility admissions increased 4.3 percent and same-facility emergency room visits increased 12.7 percent.
In January, a Missouri judged ruled against the company in a lawsuit with a nonprofit health foundation, costing about $175 million in legal claim costs in the fourth quarter. In its earnings statement, HCA indicated it would appeal that ruling.
