Heart association kicks off awareness campaign tonight

The local American Heart Association and Wesley Medical Center will hold a kick-off event for American Heart Month from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Cessna Conference Room in Wesley Medical Center, 550 N. Hillside.

The event aims to raise awareness about heart disease throughout February. National Wear Red Day is Feb. 1. Attendees will receive a resource kit to help raise awareness about heart disease.

There will also be hors d’oeuvres and door prizes.
