Locally owned industrial equipment maker Westland Corp. has sold itself to a German company and is now called Reiloy Westland

Not only will the company and its employees remain in Wichita, said Dave Larson, owner of the former company and president of the new one, but the sale will mean the company now has the resources to expand.

The company employs 48, and Larson said he expects to add a small number of workers in the first quarter of 2013.

Westland makes components called screws and barrels which are used in plastic injection molding and plastic extrusion machinery.
