Bethel College in North Newton said Wednesday that a new scholarship will be funded by the estate of former Halstead Bank banker James A. Will.
The Will Family Scholarship will provide $5,000 a year to a student over four years. The scholarship will be offered beginning next year.
Seniors graduating from Halstead High School and enrolled at Bethel will have first priority for the scholarship.
The estate of Mr. Will, who died nearly a year ago at the age of 77, also funded the James A. Will Family Academic Center on the Bethel campus, which was dedicated last month.
