Kansas credit unions give away money to consumers in five cities

The Kansas Credit Union Association said nine credit unions in Wichita and elsewhere gave away $15,000 in cash, gift cards and gas to consumers in five cities on Tuesday.
The promotional event was held in Arkansas City, Emporia, Topeka, Wichita and Winfield. Participating credit unions were: Ark Valley Credit Union, Meritrust Credit Union, Catholic Family Federal Credit Union, Wichita Federal Credit Union, Central Star Credit Union, Educational Credit Union, Quest Credit Union and Emporia State Federal Credit Union.
KCUA spokeswoman Susan Dyer said credit union personnel gave away $25 in cash, a gift card or gas to consumers visiting gas stations in the five communities..
She said the campaign coincided with International Credit Union Week, which is Oct. 15-19.
