Businesses organize food-collecting networking event

Area small businesses will be hosting a business networking event this month that also will collect food for area pantries.
The 2012 Can-Do Networking Event will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 25 at Be Amazed Carpet Cleaning and Services, 715 N. Gow. The other sponsors are Building Controls and Services, McNay & Voth ADHD Coaching Services and Marta Curry.
Admission to the event is non-perishable, canned food.
“These companies see Can-Do 2012 as a new tradition to fill the empty shelves of Wichita food pantries prior to the Holiday Seasons, right when the need is the greatest,” said Sarah McNay, operations manager or McNay & Voth, in an e-mail to The Eagle.
The businesses said the canned food they collect will be donated to three local pantries.
