Bank of America will close its branch in El Dorado and one of two in Hutchinson, a bank spokeswoman said today.

The El Dorado branch will close Sept. 28. And the bank’s branch at 20 W. Second in Hutchinson will close on Sept. 21. The bank’s other Hutchinson branch at 1600 E. 17th will remain open.

“Every year, Bank of America evaluates and adjusts the distribution network to bring store coverage in balance with market opportunity,” Bank of America spokeswoman Diane Wagner said in an email to The Eagle.

She said customers of the affected branches will receive letters about the closings in June.

Wagner would not say how many employees work at the branches. She said the bank will provide them with “a variety of assistance” including helping them to find jobs elsewhere in the company.
