The Wichita Health Information Exchange has added three more groups to its network, the organization said today.
The Sedgwick County Health Department, GraceMed clinic and West Wichita Family Practice all signed business participation agreements in the past two weeks.
The agreements outline a number of measures, including privacy and security standards — protecting patient information — authorized users and technology requirements.
The system is expected to increase efficiency for health care providers, lower the costs of health care and improve patient outcomes. The system also has positive implications for public health, including identifying potential epidemics early.
Other providers with agreements in place include Via Christi Health and Wesley Medical Center, the city’s two largest hospital operators.
