Amore is excited by the challenge of joining an 11-month-old company with a handful of employees.
"We're truly a start-up," he said. "We're kind of bootstrapping. My first challenge is going to be telling the right story of who we are."
The LED Alliance seeks to connect advertisers with the owners and operators of LED billboards across the country. It's located in offices at the Waterfront.
Amore, 35, is a native of upstate New York. He worked in public relations for 10 years on the East Coast before moving here with his wife, Joy, a Wichita native. He spent the last four years with Associated Advertising in what he called a "hybrid role" that involved new business acquisition and more.
"I was really very privileged in that regard," he said.
The LED Alliance is now active in 35 markets, Amore said. It seeks to be largest operation of its type serving as middleman between advertisers and LED billboard operators.
Amore and his wife have a 5-year-old daughter. He stays busy bicycling and knitting and serves on the boards of a couple of community groups.
"I also love hummus," he joked.
